Afshin

Biography//

Afshin Jafari was born on May 6, 1978 in Iran. His family relocated to Tehran, Iran when he was 7 years-old.At the age of 10, Afshin began playing the guitar and writing his own songs and lyrics.

His music is fresh and new, merging Persian lyrics an musical traditions with Western pop, in a style and quality that noone else in the Persian scene has achieved.

During this time, pop music was banned in Iran. In 1995, Afshin and his family immigrated to Mannheim, Germany so that he could pursue his musical career. The move resulted in the 1999 release of Afshin's first CD entitle "Scent of Rain" on the Iranian US Label "Parsvideo".His second album "Star" was released in 2002. "Star" was published by the big Persian music label "Taraneh Enterprises" .

In 2004, "Aso Pas" (Dire Strait) was released and quickly became a major worldwide success. With this album, Afshin found his unique style: a mixture of pop, danke, Hip Hop, and of course, Persian and oriental rhythms and melodies with German rap.
